Pros and cons of Collins Spanish Dictionary app for iPhone and iPad

Collins Spanish Dictionary app good for

Fresh off two months in Cuba. Got this app the night before we left and happy we did. Easy to use, clear voice used for pronouncing words, and simple going Dom English to Spanish. Worth it if you are traveling as no Internet required is key in developing countries.
I really like the built in pronunciation, the example phrases and the sheer size of the database. I would also recommend the Word-magic unabridged Spanish/English dictionary. Rather than say one is better than the other, I think they compliment each other and the combined number of words you will cover 99% of the spanish vocabulary and only occasionally you may have to resort to the word-reference site for some localized slang. The cost of both together can seem high, but if you are serious about studying the Spanish language, you will be using both daily for years.
As a lover of the Spanish language, for many years I have used the paper version of the Collins Spanish Dictionary and can attest that it is not just the best Spanish-English dictionary available, it is one of the best bilingual dictionaries ever published. The English and Spanish equivalents are clear and complete, the coverage is comprehensive, conjugations are available for all verb forms, and this app has clear audio for every word. As a compiler of Spanish dictionaries myself and a heavy user of Spanish electronic dictionaries, I have no hesitations in ranking this as the best Spanish-English dictionary available for the Iphone.
This is easily the best Spanish dictionary app. A lot of care was put into making the interface clean and intuitive.
Its the best one on AppStore. It allows you a full text search. I hope that in the next update will be added the possibility to copy parts of the text as many dictionaries let you do. My compliments to the developers.
The best tool for finding the most appropriate translation of a word or phrase! And I appreciate the inclusion of regional variants (e.g., for the Southern Cone).

Some bad moments

Needs an update for the iphone 5 screen. Also, flashcards to review favorites (and the option to export favorites list by email) should be added.
The font size of the word search list and conjugación list became too small to read in the current version even using with iPad. If this comes from design issue, they should be changeable by the users. This is very hard to use on iPhone due to this problem. I would like to downgrade to the previous version if this is not improved.
Crashing on iPhone4 and is veeeery slow on iPad Mini... Please update it!
I recently purchased this dictionary after reading through endless reviews and websites about the various options. The Collins version is billed as "the same as the ultralingua" version that sells for $10 less, but with a much more comprehensive selection of words. What they did not let me know is that it is in fact NOT like the ultralingua version. The Collins version does not recognize different forms of a word, such as conjugated forms, which makes looking up words difficult and a matter of guesswork to determine the correct spelling of the root word. The translations are also so brief (english and spanish) that I find myself wondering about the meanings even if I manage to find it in the dictionary.
Very very good! Ive got more than 6 dictionaries and this one is the best out of all! worth your money! you wont regret it.
This is a very good, very complete dictionary with one serious omission. Although its nice to be able to hear the words pronounced, the audio is frequently ambiguous and it would be enormously helpful to have an IPA transcription available. Why are these transcriptions available only for English and not Spanish??
