Crash...must delete & reinstall

Must reinstall for this version to work. Reboot will not help

2.0

Upgrade crashed. Had to delete and re-install app, and now 2.0 works fine.

Finally iPhone 5 support!!!

This version has an unfortunate bug that requires owners of previous versions to delete the app and re-install it, but other than that, it is a great update! I love having iPhone 5 support, and it has some nice UI tweaks. The app is well worth the money to me … you get all of the Collins Spanish English dictionary in a much more convenient and portable version. You can search on conjugated forms of the verbs, and there are pronunciations as well. Unlike some other apps, the pronunciations are built in to the app and dont require internet access (which is a mixed blessing since it does make the app rather large).

New iPhone 5 update doesnt work, crashes upon opening

Please update, this most recent version will not even let me open the app. It crashes every time.

The Best Spanish/English Dictionary

Ive used this app for about a year on my iPhone and a few months on my iPad. The app is stable and reliable, the underlying dictionary is the most complete Ive found, especially regional aspects of Spanish. Bookmarked words can be synced via iCloud between iOS devices, which completely rocks. Recommended without reservations.

Best on the store!

I have bought a couple of the other Spanish dictionaries on the store, and this one is the best I have seen, one of the best things about it is the data, which is extremely thorough for all the entries when it needs to be, it has every word I have needed to search for so far. The data itself can be very deep on some of the entries, but the interface in the app allows easy access to all of it through a convenient index button. All the example sentences are searchable, and I havent seen the convenient example jump feature in any other app. This feature is pretty useful when I want to find other phrases or examples with the same words, making it easier to remember. The conjugation feature is a must have on any Spanish dictionary so I am glad to see it included, All in all, the app is very solid and stable, and I am very happy with the purchase. I hope to see even more added to this app, and I can see it becoming even greater. Thanks!

The Best Spanish-English Dictionary...Period

Ive been using this app for close to two years, I have others, but this is by far the best, and my favorite app as well. I live in Mexico and I would be lost without it. Gracias por construirlo

Needs a browsing function

How can you have a dictionary that doesnt let you browse? Its usefulness is limited because of the lack of browsing.

spanish dictionary

This app is so cleaver. It took a while to effectively use it, once there, it is quite amazing.

Not for professionals

Unless Im missing something, this dictionary is not all that great. It has some good examples, but I have not found many words in only the first month after purchasing. Without using the other high end dictionary its tough to say if that one is similar, but this is a real disappointment.

Perfect app for students

Very easy to use, can search for phrases and have audio pronunciation on each word. A little pricey, but its worth it.

Doubtful

Several words I have looked up merely gives me a translation... Im looking fir definition! After all I purchased a Dictionary NOT a translator. It is handy... But doesnt do the defining part for all words. :/.

Great app… almost

This dictionary does not only have a lot of words, it is also enshrined in a powerful app. My only reservation: it´s quite difficult to select and copy from the app. This is important if you use the dictionary in conjunction with a flash cards app (which is the logic thing to do if you want to learn new Spanish words). In this case its a real pain to select text from the dictionary and when you paste it in the other app it comes spread in many lines and with many inappropriate blank spaces.

Excellent Spanish / English Dictionary

I would recommend this dictionary. However, instead of flashcards, the user should have the ability to make different vocabulary lists.

Sir

I bought this dictionary some time ago. Paid full price, 30 dollars or so. When I transferred the app to a new phone, it said there was an "update" available. So, I updated. What happened is that my excellent, offline dictionary, with conjugations and all that was *magically* replaced with a crappy online version sans conjugations, etc. Fortunately, I had the app backed up on a laptop and simply deleted the new, crappy updated one. So, in short: DO NOT UPDATE THIS APP.

Conjugation problem.

I would like to know why some verbs dont have a conjugation? Such as, "atreverse" - it doesnt show the conjugation. Could you please check it again, maybe they might be more than a verb which i found. Thank you very much

Still my favorite and one of my most used apps

I use it on both iPad and iPhone. It has the most words of any of the dictionaries. I also use the examples regularly. It pronounces the words for me so I can practice my accent. The customer service response is the best! I am a Spanish Language student and now a Peace Corps Volunteer headed to Mexico.

amazing investment

great app. great word breakdowns. and while there is no grammar technically, the words come with a Host of example sentences and explanations of uses

Expensive but worth it

While the Collins dictionary app is about the same price as you can get the hardcover dictionary on amazon it is well worth having for the serious student and translator. I own both and have not been able to discern any real difference in terms of word and usage content. The app also has links to Wiki content for most ,if not all entries, which is a big plus. While I grew up and spent the vast majority of my career in foreign languages long before the information revolution, I embrace this technology.

Excellent find

With the free alternatives, often useful as they are, I think you get what you pay for. As a language professor I find myself gratified to have this in depth resource with me, even off line. I imagine the casual learner doesnt need this. But I know no superior resource for those who want to read and speak and build in depth knowledge of both languages. Buy it if your goal is to speak well!
